The face on the left is a photograph from Mexico. A
priest was taking pictures of his new parish. When he developed his film, the
Face of Jesus appeared on the picture he took of the tabernacle. This picture
has many striking similarities to the Face of Jesus from His Burial Shroud. The
eyes are the most fascinating of the many points of congruence or similarities.
On the Face from Mexico, there can be seen what appear to be thorns sticking in
the chin of Jesus through His beard. Above the actual left eye of Jesus (our
right) can be seen a thorn (the white line which appears to be in the hair, in
an up and down direction) sticking in the forehead at the same location we see a
blood clot on the Face of the Shroud. Above the actual right eye (our left) can
be seen a long thorn sticking in the forehead of Jesus at the same location
which we see the two blood flows originating from above the right eye of the
shroud. There also appears to be a thorn right under the actual left eye on the
outside of the eye socket. The shadowing and contours along both sides of the
Face are very striking.

On the Face from Mexico, with thorns being visible around the
chin, face and possibly the eyes,
this would give credence to the oral tradition; that they tied Jesus' head to
His Cross with thorns.
